Access to data
In the Alertness project we practice a free and open data policy, which means that anyone may use our material freely and for benefit of society. Relevant data includes results from experiments and observational data. The use is regulated by MET Norway's data policy. For help – see this wiki site.
The data from the Alertness project are archived as NetCDF files, and are available through thredds.met.no here. Currently, the data are organised as follows:
YOPP_supersite/ - Model output from YOPP supersites from a range of Numerical Weather Prediction centers.
buoy/ - Data collected from the YOPP IGP Buoy campaign.
IGP_IGB/ - Model data for the IGP project. Domain covers the IMO/DMI IGB domain, including Iceland, Greenland and Svalbard.
EPS/ - Ensemble model experiments.
users/ - Various user experiments.
Results from the Alertness project are implemented in the operational AROME-Arctic model system. The model output is used as forecasts on e.g. yr.no. The model output data are located here
About AROME-Arctic
AROME-Arctic is a regional short-range high-resolution forecasting system for the European Arctic with 2.5 km grid spacing and 65 vertical levels (Müller et al. 2017). For more details see MET Norway.
